Detroit Pistons star forward Charlie Villanueva underwent a successful surgical procedure to repair a nasal fracture, suffered in the Pistons' 94-88 victory over Atlanta on November 29, 2009. Villanueva had the surgery done Monday, a day after he was fouled with 9:30 to play in the game at the Palace of Auburn Hills. He shot two free throws with gauze stemming the blood flow, then went to the locker room and did not return. The procedure was performed by Dr. Gene Rontal at the DMC Berry Center in Farmington Hills, MI. We continue to wish Charlie a well recovery and success on the NBA hardwood court.
